Fresher's Week at Lancaster!

Well after a lot of blood sweat and tears during the exam period and awaiting my results on results day. I achieved my goal of getting into Lancaster University! Though I had to leave my family and some of the closest people to me as we all parted in our own career paths, I have learnt a lot about myself and the people around me. And its made me realise how lucky I am to have the people that are close to me back at home and the people at University! I've been at University a month now, and has it been a roller coaster of change and emotion!

Cheesy speech alert!!

I have had some of the best flatmates I could of actually wished for ! They are all amazing in their own individual way and have helped me through thick and thin! We have already had some of our drunkest moments and some of our hard felt emotional moments and we have stuck by one another through it all. They have individual each taught me something about myself as a person and my view on life as a whole! I just love them!!

Alice Winterburn - Possibly the happiest and one of the prettiest people that seems to be alive, she's happy all the time! And we all love that about her, she's our Flat 5 rainbow! She is like a living hilarious cartoon character with an amazing fashion sense and a deep love for Ugg boots. Oh... and she loves cats! and loves to Cheer and is THE ONLY LOVER OF Miley Cyrus in our Flat 5 family, weirdo.

Famous Quotes -
"Chicken Nuggets are like my family and now I'm coming to the edge!"
" YO MAMMA!"
"DUH!"

Rachel Taylor - Has come a long way since she has been in University and I think she is one of the nicest and prettiest people I have met. She is really down to earth and all she wants in life is to have fun and create a lot of memories ! But like the rest of us, she is just as bonkers and loves to sing and knows quite a lot of songs ! Right at the beginning of University we had a lot of heart to hearts and she really helped me ! Plus I also made her a noodle addict like Alice!

Mary-Ann Gregoriou - Our Cyprian flat mate who is possibly one of the prettiest people I've met with a wicked talent for photography! She is very passionate with her interests, and that's something in particular that I admire her for! Plus, she's an amazing cook and we had a right laugh when she tried to help me cook for the first time! We've had a few deep discussions including our shared love for Star Signs and Spiritual viewpoints.

Thomas Muszynski - One person I literally have so much in common with, it's actually quite scary! We are pretty much the same person and we clicked pretty much when we first met! We have so many memories and he knows me fairly well and we have already been through so much together! He means so much to me and to be honest I don't know what I would do without him! We share so much together and literally, I couldn't cope without him!

Antony Humphreys - Also, known as Antwan! He is a computing expert who is a third year but he still acts like a Fresher with all his little computer gadgets! Him and Alice are a really cute couple and I love his rants about his dissertation and his meetings! His honestly one of the nicest people I have met and he is a very approachable person when you have a problem! And he has amazing cooking skills which comes in handy for Alice!

Brian Lin - Brian is a little cutie and is quite quiet but he is always smiling! Being from Hong Kong, he lives from a long way from home and I think he's brave like Mary-Ann being a long way from home. He defiantly a happy chappy, who always makes nice smelling food !

Ben Miller - Though Ben doesn't drink he's a right laugh and come out with humorous comments! Though the whole flat expect he is responsible on the invasion of the Boblets and the mini bobs after we got Bob on the last night of Fresher's which I'll explain in the next paragraph! Ben is a cutie and he is pretty good at poker, though I'll never forget that I beat him! Revenge for the fact he keeps leaving the microwave on defrost! Mwhahaha!

Bob and the Boblets -  Bob, the mini Bobs and the Boblets are our Flat pets because we aren't allowed cats, dogs or fish! So you can imagine the horror when Bob went missing one day, which was discovered in Rachel's room, the cheeky bugger! However, she is now responsible for the new bobs that are now on reappearing everywhere, including Boblets being in my cupboard ! We all blame Ben due to his suspiciousness.. dun dun dun dun!

Fresher's week

First night - Toy box

Well during Fresher's week, we had a number of themes that contained some of the most randomest things ever!

On the first proper night of Fresher's, in our Kitchen sat, Alice, from Alice in Wonderland, A Cowboy, A female version of Where's Wallie, The Doctor, a Teddy Bear , a Police Woman, a Storm trooper and Ben (bless) ! We all got very drunk playing Ring Of Fire after we were joined by an army man and Minnie Mouse this was soon followed by a drink at the College Bar; 'The Northern Oak' which was also filled with odd characters with characters from Smurfs to Action Men! Already I became quite close to most of my flat as I figured we are all just as crazy as me! Had a few drunken heart to hearts outside the bar on the very surprisingly comfortable pavement with Ben and my fellow Theatre Companion; Muzzy. This was then followed by another heart to heart with Rachy-Roo and Muzzy about our past loves etc.

Second Night - Big Night Out

So after the first night, we were a bit hung over but not by much.. we went out again but this time with our 'County College' t-shirts! So after another few drinking games back at Flat 5, we set off to the Underpass where the free Bus, where our bar crawl in Lancaster began. And by this time we were pretty drunk!

So first place, we headed off to was Revolution or 'Revz' as students in Lancaster call it. Anyway, it was a mixture of a club and a pub and the only people there were County College Students, and since we are the biggest college on campus, it was packed! So after a few drinks and a few shots, Rach, Alice, Zoe ( One of our student reps), Justine and I went danced on the dance floor for a bit as well as talking to other people in our colleges!

Secondly, we then moved on to Dalton Rooms which was packed with University students and the "local yolco's" ( As Muzzy puts it), most were crowded around the bar. After more shots and drinks we all had a sing song at legendary songs like Don't stop moving' by S Club 7. And also regrouping with Rachel and our fresher rep Zoe after they went to the nearest takeaway shop since Rachel didn't have any food before drinking, the silly billy! This then lead to the Congo around the bar and out of Dalton Rooms and the whole of County made their way to Bentley's.

By this time we were all pretty drunk, though I didn't have a drink in Bentley's, the room was pretty blurry, though I do remember losing my twerking virginity due to Alice daring me too! This was also when I lost my badge for the Dalton Rooms which we need to collect four of them to get entry into the Sugarhouse, but our legend of a Fresher Rep, Zoe replaced it, the babe! So after a dance we made our way to the Sun where a lot of chanting took place to and during our time in the Sun to our arch enemy Lonsdale.

We chanted so much to Lonsdale fresher's and fresher reps that they left the Sun! By this point, we sobered up a little since we all had some water since the Sun was expensive and we got a badge to go with it so we could get into Sugar. We didn't stay very long, so we had to embrace the cold air whilst standing in the queue in Sugar and by god was it chilly! We ended up huddling like a group of penguins outside Sugar whilst chanting our County chants at other colleges!

When we finally got into Sugar, it was absolutely heaving with students from most colleges and it was bloody boiling, ( which was nice considering it was cold outside)! We all drank a lot and at some point Rachy and I got lost from the group so since, we tried to look for them ( which we eventually did) we had a dance on the jam packed dance floor and then got to the front of dance floor which we got covered in foam! Note to all readers, never eat foam! I ended up choking on it as well as getting it in my eye whilst singing Mr Brightside, Rachy couldn't stop laughing! Shortly after we regrouped with the group and then it ended up just being, Rachy, Muzzy and Me as we lost our fresher reps, and of course, Rachy and I were rocking our Foam hair and ruined makeup! We all got so passionate in our drunk singing voices with the songs that played for the rest of the night such as The best song tribute and songs by Linkin Park and of course a bit of Michael Buble whilst sat in one of the sofa areas! We also had a huge heart to hearts and by the end of the night, I couldn't have been in a better mood ! So back in the cold, waiting for the Sugar Bus to take us home, Muzzy in particular was very drunk. So drunk in fact he was telling some Grads so odd things about himself that weren't true, which was hilarious! More so the fact he couldn't remember them the next day! Finally when we got on the Sugar Bus, we all had a little cuddle on the back of the bus ! Which was followed by another emotional heart to heart with Muzzy and Rachy-Roo!

Third Night - Tikky Night

Honestly, we were all quite hung over after The Big Night but we all soldiered on and carried on drinking as we had a drink in the County Bar! We also had some food from the BBQ outside the bar which we ate in our flat which was GORGEOUS! However, since it was really bad weather we ended up going back to the flat instead of going out and played our now traditional poker with Muzzy's poker set ! This was also the day I got great news from Student Finance and so to celebrate I had a fair bit to drink! Hoot hoot !

Fourth Night - Night In with comedy club

Again, another many photos with Rachy! But oddly this was one of my favourite nights since so many things were revealed! We all played a few rounds of Ring of Fire which is a deadly game! This was the first time we also met Gareth who is used to be a fellow flat fiver to Mary-Ann, Brian and Muzzy so we see Gareth daily! We all got fairly drunk, and it all ended up with Muzzy, Rachy and Gareth singing since they can all sing, really well. It was a definite brilliant night!

Fifth Night - Campus Crawl

Tonight's theme was golf were which I didn't know about so my participation was wearing a jumper. I was probably the least 'golf like' fancy dressed but I didn't really care. But this was the only night I couldn't participate in because I was really poorly. So after I attempted to go to the campus crawl, I was taken home by Zoe and Rachy. So I spent most of my evening, one the phone to my mother whilst in the kitchen eating coco pops to try and keep down some food. But I soon regrouped with the flat back in the bar after feeling a little better which was nice!

Sixth Night - UV Rave

This was the night I was mostly looking forward to, because I have always wanted to got to one ! We obviously started with a few drinking games obviously including 'Ring Of Fire'. Though I still didn't feel 100% I did start feeling better after a few drinks. So leaving, the flat fairly drunk we made our way to Elements, which was an epic journey on the bus ! Alice and I spent most of the journey trying to do a hand clap to 'The Cup Song' which was quite successful considering the state we was in!

When we arrived at Elements we got some drinks and we went upstairs after dancing to some classic songs that I cant remember then names off, to upstairs dance floor which was heaving with people! There was cages on the stage where people were dancing and blowing fire which was humorous to Alice and I when we saw the amount of boys gawping at them! After we danced a lot on the cramped dance floor, Alice, Ben and Anthony went home and some how Muzzy and I were separated from the rest of the group so we spent most of the night together sat at the bar having a good chat about pretty much everything! So soon enough, when we got out of Elements, we realised that we had missed the Sugar Bus so we were walking around looking for the nearest taxi station. When Muzzy found an available taxi, I remember we were sat at the back of the taxi and Muzzy whispered 'Do you have any money?' and I whispered 'I think so, do you?' which he replied with 'No, but I hope you do'! Luckily enough, I did have enough to pay for the taxi which cost me £11.40!! However, a couple of minutes later , Muzzy broke his glasses.. which was totally wasn't my fault...kinda.

Seventh Night - Bentley's Blowout

We didn't go to Bentley's , but I did get a nice visit from my parents which was really nice and they bought me loads of food from Asda after I went to Lancaster with Muzzy to get his glasses fixed when I was feeling quite poorly and living off 4 hours! So after I unpacked my food, we all had another game of Poker until god knows what time in the morning ! AND I WAS ABLE TO EAT AGAIN!

Last Night - Big Fresher's Quiz

So after surviving the whole of fresher's, we all went to the bar and participated in the County Quiz, with the name 'Born To Be County'. But coming last in the quiz, Bob the Slinky was born who is now a very important member of our flat 5 family! Sadly this was the last night of fresher's but all still drank and scoffed our faces with strawberry's and melted chocolate from the chocolate fountain, was delicious! I can honestly say that Fresher's was an experience that I will never forget!!
