South Lakes Safari Zoo

Saturday 21st December 2013

Well after getting up at 9 in the morning to adventure a journey of 1 hour and 40 minutes of torture being sat with the oddest and most hated "types" of people, I finally arrived at Ulverston at 1! I don't even know how I last a whole 6 days without seeing Muzzy since we are literally inseparable and since we live together too it was hard not seeing him everyday. The first thing we did was embrace with a huge hug on the platform and to my surprise his parents were also stood on the platform as his dad was picking up his mum who was which coincidentally on the same train as me!

First thing we did as we said goodbye to his parents was walk into Ulverston and have a quick coffee, well he did! We had a little catch up and exchanged our Christmas cards, and boy was his Christmas card cute!
My Christmas Card from my Muzzy

This year we decided not to get each other presents as we are:

1. Very skint, like literally have pretty much no money to our names.
2. We both agreed that our present was to see each other over the holidays and put money together for train tickets so we can see each other once a week! - I know very soppy!

But, we did go to South Lakes Safari Zoo and it being free entry was an extra bonus! So when we arrived when we got dropped off by his parents, we had a right laugh! We first went to the Giraffes (Giraffes being my favourite animal), and I have never been so close to one in my life.. they are huge! I instantly fell in love! We had a browse at the Lions which looked pretty scary to be fair almost as scary as the Rhino that wanted to charge at us.. And we had a good look at the Leopards and the Tiger when they were feeding, that was amazing!

Actually, the thing that scared us the most was the birds.. All of them. Our first encounter was with a one bird whilst Muzzy was reading the warnings about the open aviary, this huge bird banged itself on the mesh that was in front of us. As typical Theatre Students, we may of screamed a little and jumped out of our skins! Then it went down hill from there whilst we got a bit nervous with the looks of the Emu's trying to follow us, Peacocks that love to walk in front of you, and not forgetting that one awkward bird that stood in the middle of the path, making everyone walk around it, and we walked past it three times! I hate birds.

The cutest thing though was when we were watching the Penguins being fed, though it was raining it was cute watching them pretty much stare out the dead fish whilst Muzzy was commentating the penguins inner thoughts! Towards the end of  the day, we had a romantic meal at the Chippy which was where we had a few heart to hearts which was continued when we were waiting for my train home at the train station. And it was throwing it down which was really annoying! After the horrible journey back I finally got back into Manchester with my new bracelet and new teddy; Percy Penguino!
